Former Secretary of Labor under President Bill Clinton, Robert Reich, has been a very outspoken critic of Trump. Now, Robert Reich is giving one of his most scathing reviews of the Trump White House.
Trump ran on his reputation as a no-nonsense businessman that would get things done in Washington. He claimed he would get bad actors off the American political stage in some sort of “swamp draining“. Well, it appears he drained the swamp of Washington D.C directly into the White House with his absurd cabinet nominees and appointees like the now disgraced and resigned General Mike Flynn.
“[Trump is] showing himself to be about the most inept, disorganized, sloppy, incompetent president in recent memory, one whose White House is nearly dysfunctional.” Robert Reich wrote.
Reich points to Trump’s failed executive order which had the roots of its drafting mired in Islamophobia and epic violation of the constitution. Trump himself said, “his people didn’t give him good advice“. However, Steve Bannon, the bigot from Breitbart, and Stephen Miller, the guy that says the power of the president in regards to banning Muslims should not be questioned, have only gained more power in the White House though they were the people in question directly responsible for Trump’s ill-conceived Muslim ban.
But the most horrifying aspect revealed by Robert Reich is this:
“The U.S. intelligence community is so convinced that Trump and his administration have been compromised by Russia that they’re no longer giving the White House all of their most sensitive information, lest it end up in Putin’s hands.”
This claim is backed up John R. Shindler from Observer. Shindler is “a security expert and former National Security Agency analyst and counterintelligence officer. A specialist in espionage and terrorism, he’s also been a Navy officer and a War College professor.”
Now here is why, if 100% accurate, this is so worrying. It isn’t just that Trump is lacking a necessary component to making competent foreign policy decisions, namely a normally functioning brain, but that he is now lacking another key component: being informed by the very intelligence agencies that help shape the policies that keep America safe.
If our intelligence community is certain that the Trump administration is compromised by the Kremlin, then we are living in some very trying times for American Democracy. You will find the video Mr. Reich based his Newsweek article off of below. Resist.
