Richard B. Cheney has some dark words for Barack Obama.
“I look at Barack Obama and I see the worst president of my lifetime, without question. I used to have significant criticism of Jimmy Carter, but compared to Barack Obama and the damage he is doing to the nation—it’s a tragedy.”
~ The Dick of Darkness, Richard B Cheney in his interview with Playboy Magazine
Damn! Those are some harsh words. It almost seems like the Dick of Darkness is well aware of which presidency was the real worst of his lifetime, so he’s spinning things to try to salvage his own legacy. If by worst, Dark Dick means Barack Obama has reduced the annual deficit by more than 70%, compared to where it was when Cheney/Bush handed a crashing economy off to him back in 2009…then yeah Dick, I see your point.
Worst as in: Barack Obama didn’t issue meaningless and empty tough-talk about hunting down and eliminating the leader of al Qaeda as he and George W. Bush did. Obama just went ahead and did it.
Worst as in: Barack Obama has humiliated Dark Dick by overseeing the creation of six times as many private sector jobs on his watch than did Cheney/Bush—with 7 months yet to go in his term.
Worst as in: Barack Obama has provided 20 million Americans with healthcare insurance who previously had little or no coverage at all. The uninsured rate stands today at 9.1%. That’s the lowest it’s ever been.
Worst as in: Unemployment today is half of what it was at the nadir of the Great Cheney/Bush Recession.
Worst as in: Barack Obama’s words turned out to be prophetic about the war Dark Dick lied us into when he said; “I don’t oppose all wars. What I am opposed to is a dumb war.”
Worst as in: Barack Obama rescued the backbone of American labor, the auto industry, with the usual opposition from the GOP… along with its unions that Dark Dick’s party has been trying to dismantle for decades.
Worst as in: Barack Obama oversaw the tripling—yes, tripled—of the Dow Jones index, which is presently near historic levels.
Worst as in: Barack Obama signed legislation authorizing marriage rights to GLBT, and workplace parity for women, both strongly opposed by Dark Dark’s party.
Worst as in: Barack Obama favors broad immigration reform, rather than demonizing millions of families who’ve been living, working and paying taxes in this country, many for their entire lives.
Worst as in: Barack Obama has restored America’s honor amongst the civilized world by formally outlawing any use of torture. The United States of America no longer makes a mockery of International Law, as was the case under Dark Dick and his marionette.
But other than that, yeah, Barack Obama’s been a real disaster, hasn’t he? Point and match Dark Dick, Mr. 13% favorable rating. Allow me to reconfigure your words for the sake of our posterity:
“I look at Richard B. Cheney and George W. Bush and I see the worst presidency of my lifetime, without question. I used to have significant criticism of Richard Nixon, but compared to Cheney/Bush and the damage they did to the nation—indeed, the entire world—it’s a tragedy.”
