Trump Wants To Let Oil Companies Tear Up Our Beautiful Sequoia Forests

Trump has declared war on America’s national parks. As far as he’s concerned, all that beautiful, unspoiled land is a waste of real estate, unless oil companies are allowed to tear it up for profit.

In a controversial executive order that attacks the 1906 Antiquities Act, Trump put America’s ancient and irreplaceable Sequoia forests on the chopping block; some of which includes trees that are more than 3,200 years old.

KCBS reports,

Trump’s new executive order requires Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke to review national monument designations that are over 100,000 acres and created under Presidents Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.

But environmental groups and outdoor recreation companies see the review as the first step in an assault on public lands, with the ultimate goal being to open the land up for oil and gas drilling.

Turning the country into a toxic dump for oil companies and Big Polluters seems to be a top goal for the Trump administration. One after another, the regulations that keep Americans’ air and drinking water safe are being axed by the Deregulator-in-Chief.

But polluting the air and water is not enough for the reality TV star, who ran as a populist, but is governing like a corporate whore.

According to Earth Justice,

No president in American history has reversed a national monument designation, but Trump is looking for ways to gut monuments and weaken the Antiquities Act, the nation’s century-old public lands law protecting some of our most cherished landscapes and heritage.

Perhaps that’s because no ‘president in American history’ has ever been as anti-American as the Vladimir Putin-lover sitting in the Oval Office.
