‘Liberals Want Me Dead!’ Bill O’Reilly Cowers As Twitter Slams Racist Slave Comments (VIDEO)

On July 26, 2016 during a broadcast of The O’Reilly Factor, host Bill O’Reilly took a dismissive attitude toward First Lady Michelle Obama’s remark during her speech at the Democratic National Convention about how the United States of America has come a long way in terms of race relations, given that slaves participated in the construction of the White House, which began in 1792.

Said the reactionary uptight crank:

“Slaves that worked there were well-fed and had decent lodgings provided by the government, which stopped hiring slave labor in 1802. However, the feds did not forbid subcontractors from using slave labor. So, Michelle Obama is essentially correct in citing slaves as builders of the White House, but there were others working as well. Got it all? There will be a quiz.”

Damningly, the day before on his program, Bill O’Reilly said about his visit to the Republican National Convention:

“I just saw a bunch of white people having a good time.”

Granted, few records exist about the use of slave labor to build the White House. Being that the Three-Fifths Compromise was still in effect and would not be nullified until the passage of the 13th Amendment in 1865, slaves were not considered important in terms of the history of the United States at that time. Records do exist of the federal government hiring slaves from plantation owners, but there is no proof that they were well-fed and were provided with decent lodgings by the government. I would not be surprised if such were not the case, considering this passage from “The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass“:

“There were no beds given the slaves, unless one coarse blanket be considered such, and none but the men and women had these…They find less difficulty from the want of beds, than from the want of time to sleep; for when their day’s work in the field is done, the most of them having their washing, mending, and cooking to do, and having few or none of the ordinary facilities for doing either of these, very many of their sleeping hours are consumed in preparing for the field the coming day; and when this is done, old and young, male and female, married and single, drop down side by side, on one common bed,–the cold, damp floor,–each covering himself or herself with their miserable blankets; and here they sleep till they are summoned to the field by the driver’s horn.”

Like clockwork, people on Twitter went straight for Bill O’Reilly’s jugular.

Embarrassingly, the silly, stubborn, old bastard whinged about the backlash during a panel discussion with Fox News colleagues Geraldo Rivera and Eric Bolling on July 27, taking an unapologetic stance:

“This is designed though — this is designed, Geraldo, and you know this better than anybody, this is a designed attack, came out of Media Matters, spread to Mother Jones and the other smear publications, and then into the Daily News and USA Today, designed to diminish me and to harm the Fox News channel. That’s what it is designed to do… I think the time has come now, where this whole network is going to have to band together, all of us, and we are going to have to call out the people who are actively trying to destroy this network, by using lies and deception and propaganda. We’re going to have to start to call them out by name, because that’s how bad it’s become… You saw — you saw the provocations, and that’s what I reported on, the racial provocations. And then we see black men killing cops. Now, cause and effect? You can’t do it 100 percent, but certainly you can discuss cause and effect.”

Oh, Boo fucking hoo! Somebody play the world’s saddest song on the world’s smallest violin! Any fool knows that if that crotchety, condescending, shitehawk Bill O’Reilly hadn’t run his mouth to say something stupid, NOBODY would have felt compelled to call him out on it!

Although Eric Bolling tried to offer moral support by noting that Bill O’Reilly “[wrote] books about history” and “cited history,” it should be noted that historians and critics have derided his plagiaristic revisionist tomes as “garbage” and “B.S,” particularly his books about Lincoln, Kennedy, and Reagan.

Of course, this is typical from a demagogue like Bill O’Reilly. Why should anybody expect differently?
