Last Frontier Evangelism preacher and dental hygiene expert Dave Grisham took it upon himself to try and crush the visions of dancing sugarplums out of small children at an Amarillo, Texas mall.
David Grisham Ruins Santa For Kids; Says Jesus Was Born 2016 Years Ago And More Buffoonery
Grisham begins his video by saying that he is “here today to tell kids the truth that there is no Santa Claus and that Christmas is about Jesus Christ.” He goes on to claim that Christ was born in a manger on Christmas 2016 years ago and that is why we celebrate Christmas.
Which is odd since Christmas time celebration dates back further than the birth of Christ.
In December, the Ancient Greeks celebrated the birth of Dionysus, calling him divine “infant.” According to mythology, his mother was a mortal woman and his father was Zeus, king of the Gods. The priest of Dionysus held a pastoral staff as did the Good Shepherd. In late December, ancient Greeks commemorated his rebirth.
Many biblical experts say that Jesus Christ was not born during the month of December but instead more likely a fall month like September.
According to Pope Benedict, even the year is up for grabs:
Pope Benedict writes of how the Book of Matthew claims that Jesus was born when Herod ruled in Judea. Given that Herod died in 4 BC, Christ must have been born earlier than originally documented. Arguments over Jesus’ exact date of birth have baffled biblical scholars for centuries. Even the Book of Luke says that the birth took place when Quirinius was governor of Syria in 6 AD.
But obviously, Dave Grisham knows for a fact that it was indeed Christmas 2016 years ago when Christ was born. All these other “experts” and “scholars” or the “Pope” just don’t get it.
