I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: going from Obama to Trump was like going from Bruce Springsteen to Kid Rock. President Obama was a man of integrity, aplomb, empathy, and respect for his opponents and the office. Trump, on the other hand, is a selfish, paranoid, sociopathic narcissist with a modicum of respect for the office or his opponents. And this couldn’t be any truer than with his childish and most inarticulate response to the failure to replace Obamacare in the Republican-controlled Senate.
“It’s time to let Obamacare fail and I’m not going to own it,” said Trump to reporters following its failure.
And while Trump chided Democrats for having the gall to not want to kill off 22 million Americans, it seems he’s equally as angry with the few Republicans who opposed it.
CNN reports that Trump intends on targeting Republican Senator Jeff Flake of Arizona in the 2018 midterms. Flake hasn’t been very happy with Trump or his nefarious agenda, and now Trump plans to do what he does best: settle a petty vendetta to anyone who dares disagree with the dear leader.
Interestingly enough, Trump’s vindictive attempts at punishing the few Republicans beholden to their respective constituencies may ultimately backfire on him, as Democrats will surely love the opportunity to bring down Trump’s hand-picked cronies. But Trump cares only about his image and will stop at nothing to make sure that nobody–even Republicans–does anything to make him look bad.
