America’s 45th president is having bigly problems with his approval rating, even among Republicans. Failing grades for honesty and leadership are huge factors, according to a new Quinnipiac poll.
The poll released on March 22, 2017, shows that 60 percent of those surveyed say Trump is ‘not honest.’ The job approval rating of the obese occupant of the Oval Office has also hit a new low, at only 37 percent. That’s down 4 points from just a few weeks ago.
As the Quinnipiac poll analysis notes:
President Donald Trump is losing support among Republicans, white voters and men, leaving him with a negative 37–56 percent job approval rating from American voters, his worst score ever…
Today’s job approval rating compares to a negative 41–52 percent approval rating in a March 7 survey…
On Wednesday, the poll numbers hit Twitter:
Refusing to back down over debunked claims that former President Barack Obama “wiretapped Trump Tower,” is hurting 45’s credibility. According to ABC News,
As for one of the White House’s most controversial stances, 19 percent of those polled believe that “President Obama wiretapped Trump Tower during the 2016 presidential election,” compared to 70 percent who do not believe the claim. Republicans are virtually even by a 41-39 margin.
A few other interesting bits leap out of this latest poll. Most of those surveyed don’t think the apprentice in the White House is ‘level headed’ or ‘cares about average Americans.’
There are also blaring warning signs on the issues Trump ran on. The Deceiver-in-Chief is underwater on the economy, terrorism, immigration, healthcare, foreign policy, and of course ‘policy toward Russia.’ That last one may have something to do with the fact that Trump and his campaign associates have been under FBI investigation since July 2016, for collusion with a foreign power to influence the outcome of the election. Potential criminal acts are also part of that FBI probe.
There’s even more bad news for Trump from Gallup Daily tracking polls. As of March 23, 2017, a full 55 percent of those surveyed disapprove of the real estate agent in the White House.
