Special Counsel Mueller has only just begun indicting Trump campaign officials, and we are now seeing the desperation from GOP representatives, who know very well that Mueller is on to something that could impeach Trump. GOP representatives Matt Gaetz of Florida, Andy Biggs of Arizona and Louie Gohmert of Texas introduced a resolution calling for Robert Mueller to recuse himself.
Representative Jamie Raskin, (D-Md) called the legislation “a joke.”
Matt Gaetz, U.S. Representative for Florida’s 1st congressional district, appeared on the Floor of the House to plead for firing Mueller, saying Mueller could undermine Trump and lead to a “Coup d’Etat.”

Gaetz is trying to claim that the debunked Uranium One story is a conflict of interest for Mueller since he was FBI Director at the time of the 2010 deal. He also wants to appoint a counsel to look into the Fusion GPS/ Steel dossier and to investigate the Clinton Foundation –more diversions.
He claims that Sessions’ recusal from the Russian probe could be preventing him from looking into these Clinton-related matters, but doesn’t seem to care about Trump-related matters whatsoever. The House and Senate Judiary Committees have both already been looking into the dossier, and as for the Clinton Foundation, well that’s just Gaetz’s hopeful Benghazi du jour.
Gaetz continues to post to Twitter about his so-called, “Coup d’Etat.” Of course, an actual Coup d’Etat could be caused if Trump or Republicans decide to thwart the Russia investigations, plunging America into a constitutional crisis from which democracy may not recover.
We are at risk of a coup d'etat in this country if we allow an unaccountable person, with no oversight, to undermine the duly-elected President of the United States.

As we’ve reported before at Amerian News X, Matt Gaetz’s credibility has been called into question, with a 2008 DUI arrest mug shot making the rounds on social media. Gaetz is the son of a former Florida Senate President, Don Gaetz who is a multimillionaire reportedly worth at least $26.99 million. His status apparently let him slide by, free from the usual consequences of his DUI.
“In 2008, Rep. Gaetz was arrested for drunk driving, but he wasn’t subjected to the penalties other Florida drivers face when they drive drunk. Rep. Gaetz skated past laws that would have put anyone else in jail. That makes him the last person in Congress with the credibility to accuse anyone of being unethical,” wrote M. Tobin.
To give further perspective, here is a side-by-side view of Robert Mueller at roughly the same age as Gaetz when his DUI occured.

Now, consider the man running against Gaetz for the 1st congressional district in Florida. He’s retired U.S. Navy officer and Democrat, Phil Ehr, who calls what Gaetz is doing an “embarrassment.”

Ehr said that sensible people of NW Florida disagree with Gaetz’s “strange views on justice and special counsel Mueller.”
NW Florida’s embarrassment in Washington ends with the 2018 General Election. I look forward to replacing him with credible representation. Vote https://t.co/TAvx5weQiI. #Mueller #TrumpRussia https://t.co/Uhzy5gLjB1

Twitter has responded by suggesting that it is Gaetz who Muller might need to investigate, and possibly as a “conspirator against the United States” as well as for obstruction of justice.
