Seventy-Three percent of Americans don’t trust most of what the White House says according to the newest CNN polling. That is a whopping two-thirds of We the People, and represents the current administrations eroding base. This number, and the rest of them, prompted Morning Joe to say that he’d “have [Trump] put on a 24-hour suicide watch.”
That doesn’t attack those who may have been or are suicidal, what it does say is that Trump — with his apparent need to be the center of attention and adulation — has just faced the devil in the mirror.
Not that we are sure he will accept them to be true, as anything he doesn’t like is usually branded “fake news.”
The numbers for Trump are dismal. Not just in the CNN polling, either. In fact, a recent poll of likely Republican voters found that Ohio Governor John Kasich mops the floor with Trump. And Pence. Like seriously, dominated, according to the Hill:
An American Research Group poll found that if the New Hampshire Republican presidential primary were held today, Kasich would get 52 percent support, compared to Trump who would receive just 40 percent.
Another 8 percent are undecided.
In a potential primary matchup between Kasich and Vice President Mike Pence, the Ohio governor still holds an advantage, according to the poll.
In that matchup, Kasich garners 41 percent support, compared to Pence, who has 27 percent.
Another 32 percent of respondents said they were undecided.
In the polling numbers mentioned by Morning Joe, just 34 percent of America is proud to have Trump as president while a very substantial 63 percent are not proud of him, a number that is growing while it looks like his base of support is waning.
The number of Republicans that strongly approve of the job that Trump is doing has declined 14 percent since February to 59 percent.
