A seemingly never-ending career of rubbing elbows with bottom-feeding scum that would make the denizens of the Cantina bar in Star Wars blush has given Trump an army of unctuous cohorts. While it’s quite common for presidents to consult with former world leaders and confidantes in the world of academia and government, Trump prefers to associate with those who either kiss his a$$ or are as much narcissistic know nothings as he is.
Politico recently reported that the Donald now routinely consults with shady boxing promoter Don King.
“I can talk to him every day through his assistant,” King recently told Politico when asked about his communications with Trump. “And if it’s something that’s got to be of urgency, I can get him.”
One’s a slimy, unethical con man and the other is just a deceptive boxing promoter. So it only seems appropriate that the two consult, no?
King, who considers himself a “Republicrat” and proudly displays elephant and donkey statues in his garden to honor that label, quickly became a supporter of Trump’s candidacy. He stirred up controversy at an event in Ohio last year when he said the N-word before bringing Trump on stage. And while we were subjected to a whole circus of uninspiring clowns at the Republican National Convention last year, it seems King was among those being considered to be a speaker. Then RNC Chairman and current White House Chief-of-Staff Reince Priebus ultimately pulled the plug, saying that King “was a convicted murderer.” King should have known that only rapists, racists, and con men have a home in the Republican Party, but I guess it was a rookie mistake.
Much like Trump and his non-stop hatred for a free and independent press fulfilling its constitutional duties, King also feels that the media are aligned against him and trying to bring him down. Never mind the churlish insults he hurls at them whenever he can or that he seems to be doing a good job of bringing himself down on his very own. Here’s the delusional nonsense King told Trump:
I tell him, ‘Now Mr. Trump, they’re treating you like a black man,’” King said. “I say, ‘Mr. President, you know what it’s like to be a black man … No matter what you say or do, you are guilty as hell.’”
And we wonder why Trump is such a paranoid and unhinged sociopath? Well, he seems to keep that kind of company.
