If Obama Dished Out What Trump Serves America, The fallout Would Have Been Swift and Major
The crass, crude and crazy have reached epic levels and still it continues to climb. Republican presidential nominee Donald J. Trump’s latest open mic comments has taken us where no other nominee in history has taken us before–talking about women’s private parts in the most misogynistic way possible. The latest offensive verbiage to spew from Trump’s mouth is currently circulating. In 2005, a hot mic caught him boasting of what a rich man like himself could get away with doing to women.
“You can do anything, you can grab them by the pussy,” he said. Before that crude revelation, he was heard laughing and expounding more on how he handled a certain woman he wanted to have sex with. But just an aside, wasn’t he already married to his third and current wife Melania by that time?
Here is more of that predatory exchange.
“You know I moved on her actually. You know she was down on Palm Beach, and I failed, I’ll admit it. I did try and fuck her, she was married.” The person he was talking to laughed, saying “that’s huge news.” Trump continued. “No, no Nancy. No this was—and I moved on her very heavily. In fact I took her out furniture shopping, she wanted to get some furniture. I said, I’ll show you where they have some nice furniture.”
He continued recounting his moves on this woman, obviously proud of his skills. “I moved on her like a bitch but I couldn’t get there and she was married. Then all of a sudden I see her. She’s got the big phony tits and everything. She’s totally changed her look.”
His confidante then said, “Sheesh, your girl is hot as shit. In the purple.” “Whoa! Yes! Whoa!” Trump was heard saying excitedly. “Yes The Donald has scored,” his co-conspirator praised. He was called The Donald even back then. “Whoa, my man,” he piled on. Both men can be heard laughing and cross talking over each other. This vulgar Trump who obviously considered himself a Casanova, continued, “Look at you, you are a pussy.”
The lecherous banter continued between Trump and his pals until he added that aforementioned piece of insight into his way with the ladies as a rich man about town.
Click on the video below the hear the entire exchange, including him ogling women passing by. In the footage obtained by the Washington Post, Trump stepped out of the bus he was travelling on with Billy Bush.
Yet his daughter Ivanka stood on the RNC’s podium this year and beamed about her father’s impeccable treatment of women and how he respected them. Does that sound like a man who respects women? Trump himself has spoken repeatedly about “his love” for women and how much he “cherished and adored” them.
Could you imagine if a tape like that of president Obama speaking in such a deeply disrespectful and misogynistic way had surfaced during his campaigns? How about if he had said and done a fraction of the bigoted, sexist, dangerous, fraudulent, illegal, immoral things Trump has? The Grand Ole Party would have measured the rope a long time ago.
The media, right-wing pundits, surrogates and Republicans have made excuses for Trump’s assault on America’s sensibilities for 16 plus months for a myriad of reasons. The media forgot their professional duty in the pursuit of high ratings. Republicans have put party politics above all else, apparently not caring who they put in the Oval Office as long as he professes to be one of them and the surrogates—well they are paid to do and say whatever advances the cause of their master.
Forget national security, stability, sound foreign policy and the collective good of country and its citizenry–many have convinced themselves that Donald Trump, a man who is dangerously unfit, can be the leader of this country and the free world.
But Republicans, on the day of Obama’s inauguration, plotted to destabilize his new presidency. They met and planned to do everything in their power to make his four years in office a living hell; to block him at every turn, yet they endorse and turn the other way as a fascist, lewd, sexist, bigoted, unethical, erratic, nincompoop insult his way to the White House.
Obama, who is the personification of family values—the supposed cornerstone of conservatism—was vilified by many conservatives, including Trump. The birther issue heavily pushed by Trump had one goal—to de-legitimize the first black president of the United States. Trump even went as far as to query the president’s qualification and intellect by questioning his education, calling for him to produce his college transcript as well.
So a man who has only one marriage under his belt, no infidelities they could find to thrash him with, and who has the utmost respect and class, who bypassed corporate money to work as a community organizer, was relentlessly persecuted, while a selfish toad like Trump has been excused and defended over and over for the indefensible.
Speaker Paul Ryan and RNC Chair Reince Pribus, who remained mostly silent throughout Trump’s deeply checkered campaign and who went on to endorse him as he continued his offensive rampage, have finally decided to speak on this one. Ryan reportedly called it “sickening” and banned him from a political event. Pribus also put out a statement Friday, denouncing Trump.
What does this man have to do for everyone to wake up and realize this is not business as usual? Does he have to shoot someone in New York City’s Times Square as he boasted he could do and get away with, while spectators capture it on their smartphones, for party leaders to do something drastic?
Maybe now that they have witnessed their VP nominee in debate action, the Grand Ole Party has decided to make a power play. Get Trump out by any means necessary and let Pence sit at the top of the ticket, hence the timely “leaking” of this video? Time will tell but is it too little too late? Trump has since issued his version of an apology but we know it wasn’t that, it was just his typical way of saying you caught me. He will never apologize for anything, for his ego is allergic to humility, regret, empathy, compassion, sympathy, reflection–you know all the little things that make us human.
History will judge this period and its players harshly for unfortunately, many do not seem to have learned from the sordid past.
