Not a day goes by where Americans can’t go to sleep without having to wake up to news of the never-ending ugliness that has engulfed America, ever since Trump sleazed into the oval office. The disgusting acts of violence perpetrated by a bunch of sad and pathetic neo-Nazis in Charlottesville last week resulted in the needless death of a counter-protester, Heather Heyer.
And Trump, forever being unpresidential and willing to fan the flames of hate to score points with his political base, did himself no favors when he continued to make a moral equivalency between neo-Nazis and decent human beings who are standing against such obviously vile and irrelevant attitudes.
But Susan Bro, the mother of Heather Heyer, had some interesting things to say about Trump
Speaking on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” Susan Bro said she initially missed the first few calls to her from the White House. However, she said “now I will not” talk to the president after the news conference in which Trump had the unmitigated audacity to equate violence by white supremacists at the rally with violence by those protesting the hate-filled rally.
“You can’t wash this one away by shaking my hand and saying ‘I’m sorry,'” Bro said of the president. She also advised Trump to “think before you speak.”
You tell him, Mrs. Bro! Unlike Trump, Bro has class. More, apparently, in her pinky than Trump has in his entire body. Much like the majority of America, she is utterly disgusted with a man who not only has tainted the office in a bare half a year but has refused to show one iota of decency and concern for anyone who’s not a billionaire or a xenophobic racist.
It’s the job of decent and sane Americans to say ‘Hell no!” to this shame of a president and his perpetual instigation of hate and division.
