This Is What A 35 Percent Approval Rating Looks Like: Pro-Trump Rally Upstaged By Clowns

Mother of all rallies? Two groups marched on Washington this Saturday. One worships an insane clown and the other was the March of the Juggalos.

This was the “mother of all rallies?” Two groups marched on Washington this Saturday. One worships an insane clown and the other was the March of the Juggalos.

Who are the “Juggalos?” USA Today sympathetically reports, “Fans of the much-maligned band Insane Clown Posse took to the National Mall to protest being classified by a gang by the FBI, causing them to lose jobs, custody of their children and be turned away by the military, which they rightly say is discriminatory.” The marchers wore black and white clown makeup like the hip-hop duo’s and held signs that said things like “Music is not a crime” and “Fandom is not a felony.”

Meanwhile, a pro-Trump rally billed as the “Mother of All Rallies” (MOAR) drew only a few hundred misguided souls. The rally’s website  said their goal was to get “one million patriots to Washington DC to send a shock-wave message to the world that they have to go through us to take this country or change its culture.” The idea for this “Mother of All Rallies” started with right-wing porn actor Tommy Gunn during a live broadcast on Facebook. After saying he’d like to create a “huge” rally in support of the GOP’s president, a fan came up with the name.

Unfortunately for the white supremacists who organized the “Mother of All Rallies,” the low turnout put a damper on the occasion.

This is what a 35 percent approval rating looks like. Donald Trump’s poll numbers have been abysmal from the get-go , but hit a nadir of 34 percent last week.

Maybe they should have brought in some actual mothers to do things right.

From closeup, the Mother of All Rallies seemed to attract a lot of people.

But when seen from a greater distance? Not so much.

Apparently, Trump supporters don’t like to travel. Even the turnout for his inauguration didn’t hold a candle to the Women’s March held the day after or the Climate March in April.

Plus, some of the “Mother of All Rallies” turnout came from counter-protesters.

Meanwhile, the Juggalos won the Battle of the DC Rallies. After all, they have a better cause.

Better signs.

And better makeup.

And, of course, better music.

The Insane Clown Posse and their Juggalos even picked up some more fans.

In case you’ve never heard of Insane Clown Posse, here’s a video with one of their songs.
