McCain Trolled By Baseball Team For Using Them To Excuse Comey ‘Questioning’

John McCain failed, so badly, at his Comey questioning he needed an excuse, his excuses' answer: meh.

Senator John McCain is a real fickle pickle who jumps around more erratically than Dick Cheney’s EKG. The longtime Senator is known to jump across the aisle from time to time to take bold stands, and appeared to be the only Republican in Congress who truly wished to investigate Trump’s dealings with Putin. For example, he recently broke Republican script when he named Putin as a far more dangerous enemy than ISIS.

But, boy oh boy, did he need his meds today during his questioning of ousted FBI Director James Comey.

During the Senate Intelligence Committee’s hard-line questioning of Comey, McCain appeared to mix up Comey’s long-done Hillary Clinton email server investigation with the ongoing probe into potential Russian meddling in the U.S. Presidential election. McCain even mistakenly called Comey president.  Naturally, his bizarre behavior deeply confused the majority of the viewing public, even forcing the war hero to issue a statement afterward with an excuse any sports fan can relate to:

“I get the sense from Twitter that my line of questioning today went over people’s heads,” McCain’s statement read. “Maybe going forward I shouldn’t stay up late watching the Diamondbacks night games.”

McCain’s even more senile explanation resulted in several internet memes and jokes. But it was the Arizona Diamondback’s response that truly took the bakery:

Never before has such a simple emoji so perfectly summarized a major news event.

At least McCain doesn’t have to fret about staying up late for Thursday’s series finale against the Padres. It started at 12:40 p.m. Arizona time.

While the Senator may have had a Grandpa Simpson moment and that is worrisome, he has been an honorable Senator for the most part and, more importantly, the Democrats greatest ally in bringing down Trump. Hopefully, he takes a nap before a major hearing.
