God, yours or anybody else’s, is not going to do a damned thing about gun violence.
I don’t care how much you pray. If he’s up there, he doesn’t give a shit and he’s not going to do a goddamned thing.
This is an American problem. It was created by Americans. It’s carried out by Americans. And Americans, if they were so inclined, could fix it. God has not got one fucking thing to do with it.
And it starts, and ends, with Congress.
Every single senator and representative who took money from the NRA and who has repeatedly blocked action on gun violence and who this morning is offering empty prayers of support to Orlando should be dragged from their office and kicked to a bloody pulp.
No. I am NOT actually advocating for more violence or for anyone to assault members of congress physically — though I sure won’t protest if you do it verbally.
I’m engaged in hyperbole because I am frustrated and pissed off and sick of my fucking government colluding with the very people who are perpetuating the attacks on American citizens. I am sick and fucking tired of politicians taking money from the NRA and the gun lobby and the lunatics who think SHOOTING DOWN THE GOVERNMENT and all the rest of us is somehow a good thing. If we must endure this senseless unending bloody slaughter because they refuse to act, then THOSE sons of bitches should take some boots to the ribs too.
That would be justice in a just world.
They won’t, of course, because that’s not how America works. They’ll stay safe in their ivory towers, smug in their righteousness, growing fat and feculent on the blood money made from killing the rest of us. From killing our friends. From killing our families. From killing our neighbors and fellow citizens.
It pisses me off.
And it pisses me off that some of you people reading my words right now, are going to stay home this November, instead of going to the goddamned polls and voting these faithless fuckers out of office because you didn’t get your way in the primaries.
If you want a better nation, you HAVE to be better citizens.
