Jill Stein is at it again. In a recent interview with CNN’s Mike Smerconish, she claimed that she is being used as a scapegoat when asked if she was partly to blame for Hillary Clinton not being elected.
When asked about her attendance at an RT event in 2015 in Russia, Stein said:
“It’s funny, Michael, you have to ask why is that picture kicking up a storm right now? I think it’s very related to the fact that the Democrats are looking for someone to blame.”
On her Facebook page, Stein states that “the majority of Trump voters voted not FOR Trump but AGAINST Hillary Clinton,” conveniently forgetting that during the 2016 election campaign, in an interview with Slate’s Mike Pesca, she called Clinton “a disastrous nuclear threat right now,” said that Clinton was “beating the war drums against Russia” and accused her of essentially saying that if she was elected, the US would declare war against Russia:
“Put it this way: The most likely nuclear threat right now is with Russia. There’s no doubt about that.” … “And when you have Hillary Clinton then beating the war drums against Russia, and essentially saying that if she’s elected that we will declare war on Russia—because that’s what a no-fly zone over Syria amounts to. Shooting down Russian warplanes.”
In that same interview, Stein also downplayed Russia’s role in Ukraine, justified the annexation of Crimea because “they had a vote,” and had to be pushed on the issue before reluctantly admitting that Putin kills his enemies.
All in all, despite her protestation that she is being scapegoated, it looks like little Ms. Stein did all she could to vilify Hillary Clinton, so one can absolutely say that she is partly to blame for Trump being President.
