The vultures are circling, to steal a visual metaphor from the wild west, over the Trump presidency. The calls for impeachment, and admission that Trump is in trouble are no longer just on the left side of the aisle. Even the likes of Laura Ingraham, Jason Chaffetz, John Kasich, and John McCain all seem to be preparing, evidence the end is approaching.
But, what signals a sinking ship more than rats abandoning it? The rich and powerful setting up lifeboats for themselves.
We know that Trump is fundraising right now, his own claim in the letter reads that he is under attack and needs money to fight for “America first.” It smacks of Richard Nixon’s re-election campaign which paid legal fees for the Watergate thieves. And that the money he raises can legally be used in his defense. But, that is very circumstantial evidence, as he has been bilking people for money for a really long time.
The Evidence That Life Boats Are Being Deployed
In the information being released about the Comey Memos — very solid evidence if they are what we have been told they are — it appears that Trump had his staff — including the VP — leave when he allegedly asked Comey to drop the Flynn investigation (separate from the Trump Campaign investigation). “Plausible Deniability” being created for VP Mike Pence? Sure, usually it is the top guy leaving the subordinates holding the bag, but this time it is Trump gripping the drawstrings.
“It is important to get to the bottom of it,” said Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC), chairman of the House Freedom Caucus and a member of the House Foreign Relations Committee. “We’ve got one standard, and we need to make sure that applies to everybody.”
“We need to have all the facts, and it is appropriate for the House Oversight Committee to request this memo,” said Ryan spokeswoman AshLee Strong.
“If this is legitimately something that there was some kind of influence or pressure from Comey doing his work, I’m going to be very disappointed,” Rep. Mark Walker (R-NC), chairman of the conservative Republican Study Committee, told Politico.
The Young Turks have tracked down even more evidence that indicates that not only do the Republicans know that end is nigh, one Trump ally, Roger Stone, seems to be setting up a plausible legal defense for the beleaguered Commander in
Brief, er, chief.
In a now viral video made with Alex Jones, Stone states that he believes that “they” are going to claim that Trump has progressive Alzheimer’s. No one else is talking about is talking about Alzheimer’s disease when it comes to Trump, so this appears to be an early attempt to plant an insanity defense for Trump should a deal between his campaign and Russia come to light.
One thing is not covered, and that would be that anyone with knowledge of this alleged condition Roger Stone has pushed into the public eye, who did not disclose it as a concern, appears to be guilty of conspiracy to keep a mentally unstable man in the White House.
