Ted Cruz Drops Out Of The Presidential Race Leaving Donald Trump the Presumptive nominee for the Republican Nomination for President
Ted Cruz officially has dropped out of the race for president after a crushing defeat in the Indiana Republican primary to Donald Trump.
In a concession speech from his headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana, a somewhat subdued Cruz opined about his evaporated hopes for his campaign to have any chance of obtaining the Republican convention in Cleveland this summer…
“From the beginning, I have said I would continue on as long as there was a viable path to victory. Tonight, I am sorry to say, it appears that that path has been foreclosed. Together, we left it all on the field in Indiana. We gave it everything we’ve got, but the voters chose another path. And so with a heavy heart, but with boundless optimism for the long term future of our nation we are suspending our campaign.”
Cruz, the once darling of the Tea Party and conservative “Christian”©®™ bigots everywhere, was outgunned and out-mouthed by Donald Trump at every turn. This morning Trump accused Cruz’ father of being linked to the assassination of J.F.K. by relying upon an unsourced report from the ever credible The National Enquirer. One would think allegations that bizarre would pinpoint a fatal flaw in the logic of Trump’s candidacy, but not in this election cycle.
While Cruz spent the day melting down mentally over the allegations referring to Trump as a complete narcissist, Trump just blathered and tweeted on to a major victory in Indiana with more than a 15% margin of victory.
CNN’s Wolf Blitzer reporting live tonight immediately following Cruz’ announcement that he is suspending his campaign that, “Donald Trump emerges as the presumptive nominee of the Republican Party.”
Trump’s path to obtaining the needed 1237 required delegates is now within reach.
So there you have it. The bombastic belligerent baboon from Brooklyn is now on his way to being the Republican candidate for President of the United States of America.
