We can all agree that Donald Trump and his cabinet is deserving of nothing but the utmost ridicule and criticism. Nazis, too. However, we can all also agree that it’s not cool to go after anyone’s kids.
Perhaps no president’s children received such vile and racist attacks, daily, quite like Sasha and Malia Obama. But Chelsea Clinton was the first presidential kid to be attacked in the modern era of right-wing media. That might explain why she overlooked her obvious distaste for Barron Trump’s father to defend the 11-year-old after he was attacked by, incredibly enough, a right-wing rag.
The Daily Caller put out a piece on Monday called “It’s High Time Barron Trump Starts Dressing Like He’s In the White House.” The author ridiculously asserted, “I’ve been on the Barron Trump train from the start, but it’s about time the president’s son starts dressing the part.”
Yes, because the entire country doesn’t want Donald Trump to start acting presidential, but rather is more concerned with the daily wardrobe of his 11 year-old kid. Chelsea knows these petty and stupid attacks all too well and therefore was quick to defend Barron:
“It’s high time the media & everyone leave Barron Trump alone & let him have the private childhood he deserves, Tweeted Chelsea.”

Even if we all hate the father and wish he go away, many other Twitter users seem to agree that Barron was off limits:
I, for one, am a fan of Barron's fashion. He's 11. He dresses like it. What the hell do you people want? https://t.co/T5iWHftOUX

I am not here for stories that pick on children in the White House. He is 11. Let kids be kids. https://t.co/ogwnQHfuBK

The thing about right-wingers is that they have as much decency as they have knowledge. Instead of doing the simplest of tasks and calling out the seemingly endless destruction and corruption Trump has caused in barely eight months, they choose to devote space to calling out the wardrobe of an 11-year-old kid.
Adults who choose the spotlight, who choose to be part of Trump’s circle are fair game but children, all children, should be off limits for these things.
These people are very, very sick. Sad.
