If you haven’t heard about the (in)famous “Steele dossier” by now, you must have been living under a very secluded rock. It has more or less been a constant issue in the news for almost exactly a year – since BuzzFeed published the whole document in January 2017. If we say “pee-pee tape,” you’ll most certainly know what we’re talking about.
The dossier was compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele, and it has been reported that when Mr. Steele realized what he had his hands on, he went straight to the FBI with his findings. Republicans have recently called out for an investigation into Mr. Steele for what he wrote in the dossier.
On January 2nd, the owners of the company who requested the investigation into Trump’s ties to Russia, and thus the Steele dossier, penned an op-ed in The New York Times titled The Republicans’ Fake Investigations. In that op-ed, they accuse Republicans of refusing to release the transcripts from the testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee “even as they selectively leak details to media outlets on the far right.”
The op-ed caused Democrats to call out for the release of the transcripts, but to no avail, and today Senator Feinstein, who is on the Senate Judiciary Committee, took it upon herself to release the transcripts from the hearing.
We’re eagerly reading the document (it’s long), but we thought you should have a go at it, too.
You can find the entire 312-page transcript, here.
