Al Roker Slams Rush Limbaugh For Trying To ‘Sandy Hook-Truther’ Hurricane Irma

Al Roker is fed up with Rush Limbaugh and he isn’t mincing words about where he stands on the conservative radio host’s claim that the threat posed by Hurricane Irma isn’t nearly as dire as the media is insisting it is.

Limbaugh made the assertion that the danger of the storm is being overhyped during his radio show on Tuesday. According to Limbaugh, this is all just a scam to convince Americans that climate change is actually a thing. He began by freely admitting that he isn’t a meteorologist and has no idea what the f*ck he is talking about. But despite the fact that he is apparently aware of his blatant ignorance on the subject, he is convinced that the media is only talking about Irma so much because they want to spread panic and fear to make people believe that science might be real after all.

Limbaugh told his listeners:

Now, in the official meteorological circles, you have an abundance of people who believe that man-made climate change is real. And they believe that Al Gore is correct when he has written — and he couldn’t be more wrong — that climate change is creating more hurricanes and stronger hurricanes. And, of course, when Harvey hit, it was the first hurricane that had hit in 12 years. There haven’t been more hurricanes and no more dangerous than any others in previous years. But it doesn’t matter because the bias is built in. So there is a desire to advance this climate change agenda, and hurricanes are one of the fastest and best ways to do it. You can accomplish a lot just by creating fear and panic.

Roker, who has been the weatherman for the “Today Show” since 1996, was clearly not having any of this nonsense and took to Twitter to light Limbaugh up for his “dangerous” claims. He wrote that Limbaugh was “putting people’s lives at risk” with his rhetoric, which he said, “borders on criminal.”

Hurricane Irma is the strongest storm in recorded history and is expected to make landfall in Florida early Sunday morning. To be clear, this storm is not being hyped and people in her path would be wise to ignore Limbaugh’s uneducated claims.
